{"id":29957,"date":"2022-03-17T08:47:07","date_gmt":"2022-03-17T07:47:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/allavellilegal.com\/?p=29957"},"modified":"2024-09-16T16:21:04","modified_gmt":"2024-09-16T14:21:04","slug":"gender-balance-in-the-world-of-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/allavellilegal.com\/blog\/en\/gender-balance-in-the-world-of-work\/","title":{"rendered":"Gender balance in the world of work"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 15 March 2022, the FEMM Committee together with the Committee on Legal Affairs held a meeting on <strong>improving the gender balance in the world of work<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>On 14 November 2012, the Commission adopted a proposal aiming to address the serious problem of women&#8217;s under-representation in economic decision-making at the highest level.<\/p>\n<p>The European Parliament adopted its position on 20 November 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, the proposal has been blocked in the Council. No qualified majority in favor could be found.<\/p>\n<p>European Union is now planning to adopt a general approach on the text at the Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This will bring to an end a deadlock that<span style=\"color: #606266;\">\u00a0has lasted for almost 10 years. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 15 March 2022, the FEMM Committee together with the Committee on Legal Affairs held a meeting on improving the gender balance in the world of work.
